Lead Instructional Designer


AxisU is looking for a motivated and energetic Instructional Designer who wants to use their skills to solve the world’s workforce shortage. 

The Instructional Designer will be expected to provide subject matter expertise in developing effective course content throughout all areas of the Skilled Trades to create innovative, interactive, engaging, asynchronous online courses in an organized and effective manner. You will be expected to challenge and to be challenged, to create, and innovate. These jobs are only for some; you must have a genuine passion for producing the best educational content in the world. Without passion, you will find what we’re trying to do too difficult.

  • Develop online and the job Curriculum for Registered Apprenticeship Programs.
  • Partner directly with subject matter experts to design and develop engaging content for a variety of audiences and delivery modes (online, on-the-job, etc.) with clear strategies and tactics to achieve desired learning outcomes
  • Maintain and revise existing learning products, keeping specific audiences, learning modalities, and other learning considerations in mind while always looking for the most efficient way to express the desired learning objectives.
  • Able to engage with Content Experts and stakeholders to create interactive, transparent, and error-free content, including but not limited to Standard Guides, Web-based training, Visual Factory, and Presentations.
  • Must be creative and act as a liaison between technical and innovative groups to solve gaps in training using methodical processes such as ADDIE


  • 1+ Years of Instructional Design Experience
  • Familiar with the Adobe Suite of Products
  • Familiar with Articulate 360
  • Able to provide an eLearning portfolio or demonstrate the ability to create high-quality eLearning products
  • Able to work in a high-paced environment with ambiguity to put communications into a structured manner.
  • Curiosity to understand the strategic priorities for AxisU and how learning and development can best address recruiting, skill, and knowledge gaps in our customer workforce.
  • Strong understanding of Common Core Standards
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in both written and oral formats.
  • Ability to be unfazed by ambiguity and comfortable in environments with shifting priorities.
  • Attend quarterly in-person meetings
  • All other duties as assigned by the CEO
